Unusual food pairings you won't anywhere else, except in India

Unusual food pairings you won't anywhere else, except in India

Sometimes, food combinations are developed when there is a real need for them. Or, on other occasions, it is devised just to see what can be done. In any case, there are more dishes to sample, so who is it that is making a fuss now?

We’ve discovered many different Indian food combinations, such as from the original Butter Chicken Pizza, which has become the Chinese Bhel, to the new dish, the Chocolate Samosa Pav. However, we should push the boundaries and introduce you to some more.

So, here are some bizarre but incredibly delicious Indian food concoctions that you should give a try.

Chocolate Khakhras

I’m confident you will love these Khakhras! When you sit down to enjoy a piping hot cup of tea and a crispy khakhra (pancake made from gram flour, vegetables, and oil), your evening has come to life. To put it another way, when you dress your khakhras with pickles and chutneys, you’ve taken it to a whole new extreme. But if you’ve ever tried the delectable chocolate Khakhras?

It’s an old Indian favourite, the Gujju khakhra, but with a delicious twist. Dark brown khakhras with a sweet chocolate flavouring will send your taste buds dancing and will keep you coming back for more.

Vodka Pani Puri

We are reluctant to experiment with new food combinations because we’re scared of food poisoning, but we are more than happy to consume it if there is liquor. If you ask us, our favourite street food, pani puri, has a boozy twist: Vodka Pani Puri. On that note, there are several pubs and resto-bars where you can get Vodka Pani Puri.

The snack is great to share with your friends and fellow gang members. I call the shots and say, “brother, one more shot for you”,. and he gets another shot of vodka! There you have it, cheers! Pani puri of this type is one of the most confusing forms of pani puri in India.

Ice Cream Vada Pav

Ice Cream Vada Pav is a new sweet version of the famous Indian street food often referred to as the good ‘ol vada pav. Ice Cream Vada Pav, a portion of popular street food in Gujarat, was officially unveiled by a seller in the state. Before putting in various sugar syrups, he first poured several different syrups into the pav. Rather than stuffing the pakora with the vada, he stuffed it with a scoop of ice cream.

The garnish on his dish was filled with tutti-frutti. Just how do you like to have the opportunity to try the Ice Cream Vada Pav, where a scoop of ice cream replaces the aloo vada?

Chocolate Momos

Have you had the momos? Instead, have your momos chocolate covered. And Chocolate momos treats are enticing and sinfully delicious!

Schezwan Dosa

Chatpata schezwan flavour is fantastic in everything, and of course, it is perfect for dosas. You could try having schezwan Maggi, but why not go for schezwan dosa instead? To try this interesting but unusual combination is available in many city food establishments throughout India.

Fill your dish with the warm and soothing Chinese flavour of schezwan in the popular South Indian dosa dish. Crunchy from the outside, with a slightly spicy taste on the inside. There are several versions of the typical dosa out there, but try this if you get bored of it.

Chocolate Sandwich

Do you think that chocolate and a sandwich would go together very well? Yeah, of course, they can. While that is an apt comment, I believe I’d go one step further and say that chocolate sandwiches with cheese overload – are the perfect snack!

This is one of the most delectable ways to serve melted chocolate grilled between two slices of bread sprinkled with grated parmesan! So, do yourself a favour and try this food combination; you’re guaranteed to love it if you’re a sugar addict.

Chilli Ice-cream

In any Indian meal, including side dishes, the only way to include hot peppers is pickles as an ingredient in the food or as part of a raw ingredient. It’s common for Indians to eat a lot of green chillies. But wouldn’t that include hot chilis mixed into ice cream?

Yep, you heard it right. As you take another bite of the otherwise dessert, you get the idea of how much you would like this awesome chilli ice-cream.

While some unusual pairings may not be worth pursuing their flavours, it is worthwhile to try combinations that yield flavours you might not expect
