SYDNEY, N.S. —
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning people to check dates and UPC codes on 25 Isalean products purchased online.
Isalean is one of the nutritional supplement brands owned by Isagenix International and the products were recalled last fall due to over-fortification or adding too many vitamins.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said in an advisory on its website on Jan. 30 that the sale of the products is through websites not affiliated with Isagenix.
Warning people not to consume or buy the recalled items, which include 23 protein shakes and two kinds of protein bars, the inspection agency confirmed there have been illnesses reported in relation to the products.
Recalls for the products were issued on three different dates — Oct. 23, Nov. 7 and Nov. 14, 2020.
A list of the products, their expiry dates and UPC codes can be found on the food agency website inspection.gc.ca.
