NEW HARTFORD — Sangertown Square and Feed Our Vets have teamed up to host a contactless food drive to benefit local veterans and their families.

The drive-thru food drive will be held on Sunday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Sangertown Square parking lot by PiNZ. Volunteers will collect non-perishable food items for the Feed Our Vets pantry in New York Mills.

Donated food is to be placed in the trunk of vehicles so that volunteers can retrieve the items with minimal contact.

“This is Sangertown’s fourth year working with Feed Our Vets to help local veterans in our community.” said Victoria Orilio, marketing director for Sangertown Square.

“As we continue to face difficult times, now more than ever veterans and their families are struggling to put food on the table. This annual food drive directly impacts local veterans, and any donation will make a world of difference this holiday season,” she added.

Food items in need include: ready-made meals, cereal, pasta, sauce, canned fruit, tuna, peanut butter, jelly, boxed potatoes, canned pasta, ramen, soups, boxed rice, granola bars, syrup, pancake mix, flour, olive oil, coffee among other items.
