Pro-Klean Donates Over 250 Food Items to North Haven Pantry – Zip06.com

Over the course of four weeks, Pro-Klean Cleaning & Restoration Services, Inc., located on 340 Maple Avenue in North Haven, collected donations for the pantry at the North Haven Community Services Department. Together, the staff was able to gather more than 250 non-perishable food items for the local pantries.

“In our very busy lives, we are quick to neglect the fact that there are many people in need,” said John Cifarelli, owner of Pro-Klean for the past 30 years. “There are many families in our community that need support or a little help and we feel blessed to be able to lend a hand to those in need.”

Robert Snurkowski, the food bank administrator at the Community Services Department, said that the coronavirus pandemic has taken quite a toll on the community. He and his team came up with the initiative to create monthly food bags for those in need.

“It’s important for residents and organizations in town to take an active part in the food bank since it represents 100 percent of proceeds to the food bank. All food distributions to residents come strictly from donations in the community,” said Snurkowski.

The Community Services Department provided Pro-Klean with a list of non-perishable items that the food bank needed. From mac and cheese to cereal, Pro-Klean made sure every item on that list was filled.

“Food is a basic need that everyone should be entitled to, no one should have to go hungry. And thanks to businesses like Pro-Klean, other organizations and residents that need is met,” said Snurkowski.

“We appreciate our relationships that we have created with our local churches, towns, shelters and food banks. We will continue to support those in need for years to come. People helping people. The Pro-Klean Cares initiative was established with this sole purpose in mind,” said Cifarelli.
