What time is the Food City Dirt Race and how long will the race last?

The NASCAR Cup Series is back in action on Sunday, March 28th with the Food City Dirt Race. It’s set to be the first NASCAR Cup Series race to take place on a dirt track since 1970. The race starts at 3:30 p.m. ET and will air on FOX. You can watch a live stream on FOX.com/live.

The race is 250 laps and 133.25 miles long. Over the past ten years, the race has had a run time of anywhere from 2:53:25 to 3:37:54. However, this year is different because of the dirt. It’s not entirely clear what the dirt will do to speeds. One of the allegedly fastest short-tracks in the world is a dirt track.

The other question will be how drivers without dirt experience handle the track. Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell top the odds at DraftKings Sportsbook due to their experience on dirt. Others are using iRacing to get a handle on the surface, but I can’t imagine it fully prepares a driver for the change in surface. Cautious drivers could slow this thing down or overly aggressive drivers could create more wrecks than normal. Either way, the dirt surface should make for a wild Sunday!
