Wake Forest Baptist Health infectious disease expert Dr. Christopher Ohl predicted in early July that the COVID-19 pandemic would come under control in the United States by July 4, 2021, in remarks reported by the Triad Business Journal — a forecast he immediately acknowledged was overly optimistic.
