Shopping at Lyn’s Ladies and Babies Shoppe – Idaho Falls Magazine

Lyn’s Ladies and Babies Shoppe is a rather unique boutique for our area. When new people come in for their first trip to Lyn Pletscher’s store she often hears, “There is so much to see here. This is going to take a few return visits to your store”

Lyn knew early on that she was somehow destined to be involved in the sales field when she grew up. As an energetic youngster in Oklahoma she would go to individual homes, anxiously selling seasonal cards just to earn some money for her small play items. One of these was a tetherball set that she could play with her younger sisters

Lyn started her business in 1982, selling fine bed linens and blankets from England and Canada. This initial focus evolved into a three generation family business. Her children and grandchildren have been in some of her TV ads as well as helping out at the store either with customers or helping her with her Instagram accounts. Her TV ads usually start out with her soft voice saying the phrase, “Hi, I am Lyn.”

After expanding her merchandise lines year after year, Lyn’s is now known to be the premier baby shoppe in the entire state of Idaho. She also specializes in a variety of bamboo clothing items for the both ladies and babies. One of her notorious items that all seem to appreciate is the book Snake River Discovered by Kirk Anderson. It is an award-winning book documenting the Snake River with detailed photos and location information from its origin all the way to the Columbia River.

Lyn’s Ladies and Babies shoppe is located at 339 A Street in Historic Downtown Idaho Falls, across the street from Great Harvest Bread.
