SOS: Happy New Year; Love INC still accepting volunteer applications

Happy New Year! I really don’t know where to start, except that God is still in charge and I am beyond thankful for the peace of knowing my Lord and Savior. So much of my thoughts are cluttered with the “what ifs” of the world that I remind myself often that I need not fret as the Great God I serve has the plan.

BLESSINGS

Dear Lord, thank you for your consistent grace. Your presence is clearly evident through your devoted people. To serve you is our greatest treasure. Thank you for allowing Love INC to serve those who are truly in need. Bless those who have entrusted us with their gifts so others in our community benefit with food, clothing, Christmas gifts and so much more. I pray in Your Name Jesus that those who are truly in need will find their way to our door. Amen.

UPDATES

Case management: Our two case managers, Happy and Yuvia, along with our clearinghouse volunteers processed a record number of cases for Christmas. Many other requests such as household items, food, clothing and home repairs also were processed.

Volunteers: We have been blessed with several new volunteers. Debbie, our volunteer coordinator has also been very busy reviewing new applications for volunteers. Please go on our website and fill out a volunteer application and join us. We would love to serve our Savior with you.

Warehouse: Our warehouse is a constant revolving door. We are grateful for your gifts of household goods to give our clients. Dusty, our warehouse coordinator and his crew work diligently to organize and deliver furniture and other items to verified families.

Financial: We have our 2019 independent audit available. Just email me if you would like a copy. Marilyn, our financial coordinator spends so much time at the end of the year preparing financial statements, 1099’s, your income tax statement. If you donated to Love INC in 2020 you will receive your statement before the end of January 2021.

Media: If you would like to receive our newsletter via email, please sign up on our website, loveincnac.org. Laura, our media coordinator keeps all our current information readily available to you. Our website, Facebook, paper and online newsletters are always up to date.

Executive Director: New board members are utmost on my mind. I have had a couple new churches contact me and I am thrilled. I would love to visit with anyone from any church anytime. God has given us much to do for him in 2021. The laundry/shower facility property now belongs to Love INC, and we are reviewing plans now. If you would like more information just contact me. I will be back in the office Jan. 4. First board meeting is Jan. 29. The Board meets once a quarter. Open House for new churches and the community to stop by will be Jan. 29 as well.

FUNDRAISING

Chairished Blessings: As mentioned before, we sadly will not have our annual Chairished Blessing event in February. However, we are repurposing furniture just the same and will have a sale at some point.

Capital Campaign for new building hopefully will happen in 2021.

REQUESTS

Minor home repair is becoming a common request and mostly from the elderly.

Rental assistance for folks affected by COVID 19. We continue to serve folks with rental assistance if their jobs can be traced back to the pandemic.

New bed funding. We have a wholesale supplier from Palestine. It is a manufacturer that makes his beds in Palestine. Reasonable prices and their beds are of good quality. A full bed cost $149. A twin is $109. A Queen is $189.

Dressers, new linens, new pillows, gently used blankets and bed spreads are always in great demand.

MISSION

Sharing the Gospel is our ultimate mission. Love INC invites all Christian churches to serve alongside our staff and volunteers. The Love INC staff spends much time qualifying the need from folks in our community who complete an application. Jesus’ church will then serve them with their request. Together, we are Jesus’ Flock.
